About
The Raina Lab uses forward and reverse genetics, functional genomics, and molecular biology to dissect the signalling networks that Arabidopsis thaliana uses to perceive pathogens and coordinate defence.
Our long-term goal is to understand the genetic and molecular mechanisms regulating the hypersensitive response, systemic acquired resistance, and disease-associated host cell death — and to translate those insights into more resilient crops.
The lab is housed in the Life Sciences Complex at Syracuse University and trains graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and undergraduates across biotechnology and biology.
